English football · Sheffield Utd (Championship) and Sheffield Wednesday (outside the leagues we cover)
Sheffield's two clubs, United at Bramall Lane and Wednesday at Hillsborough. United were founded in 1889 to bring football to the Bramall Lane cricket ground, and the city of steel has been split red and blue ever since.
Kind
Local derby
Note
Same city; Wednesday not in our leagues in 2026-27
The two clubs are in different divisions, so the rivalry is not on this season’s league fixture list. When they are back in the same division, its games carry the rivalry in the Couchcall score again and this page moves to that league.
